Baby Loss Retreat – What Peer Support Means to us

Baby Loss Retreat aim to relieve the emotional and psychological suffering to parents who have suffered Miscarriage, Stillborn, Neonatal death, Medical termination or IVF

We are a charity run by mums and dads who have experienced the loss of a child – we support families after their loss. We are the first charity to offer specific aftercare with the trauma the parents experience. we are committed to provide the best aftercare as possible. We provide counselling, trauma therapy, retreats and support groups and 1 to 1 contact when required.

We know how important the peer support groups help families build a positive relationship with others who are experiencing the same situation and letting them understand that they are not going through this alone. We recognise and understand the importance of perinatal mental health care and how it affects them if untreated. We strongly agree that prevention and intervention should be done at the early stages to help improve psychological and social challenges that parents have.

We understand that having the support of counselling, support groups and trauma therapy can help improve anxiety, depression and other challenges of mental health they may have. During COVID -19 we have had a big influx of parents needing our support due to partners not been allowed in to scans or only been allowed in for 3 hours after their babies have been born.
