Amma Birth Companions

Aims & Objectives

At Amma, we strive to create a world where no one has to face childbirth and parenthood alone, ensuring that all parents can give birth and raise their children safely and with dignity. We provide emotional, practical, and informational support to foster a positive and empowering childbirth experience for every woman and birthing person we serve. Our services include birth and postnatal companionship, antenatal education, and peer support. We support people seeking sanctuary in Glasgow and individuals experiencing intersecting forms of oppression. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals in the asylum process, survivors of trafficking, and parents with a history of gender-based violence and trauma.
