Home-Start Glasgow South

Aims & Objectives

Home-Start Glasgow South (HSGS) is a leading family support charity, based in and operating across the Southside of Glasgow, providing vital support to vulnerable children, up to 8 years old and their families.

Our support model is centred around our trained volunteers providing support within the family home for up to 3 hours each week.  In addition, we offer one-to-one bespoke holistic antenatal, perinatal, and intensive family support alongside 11 weekly groups delivered across the Southside of Glasgow.  Following referrals, we support and empower families to cope with the impact of e.g., poor physical and mental health & well-being, poverty & inequality, isolation, parenting challenges, debt, poor housing, welfare rights, domestic abuse, and addictions.  By addressing these challenges working with parents/carers, we can work towards ensuring children are both physically and emotionally supported and crucially are not subject to neglect or harm.
