Aims & Objectives

Multi-Cultural Family Base (MCFB) is a third-sector organisation aiming to promote the well-being and life opportunities of vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalised children, young people and their families from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic communities in the City of Edinburgh. We work towards greater social inclusion for their benefits and that of society as a whole. MCFB is committed to promoting human rights, valuing diversity, providing equal opportunities.

The Early Years Service at MCFB delivers targeted support to Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic families for vulnerable infants and young children up to the age of 3.  At its core, our service delivery is aimed at improving perinatal and infant mental health through short-term or intensive intervention to support parent-infant attachment through play, therapeutic relationship, and advocacy/practical support when needed. Cross-cultural curiosity is integral to our practice.
